How to use GATE ST previous year papers
- Start with the latest paper (2026) and take it in 3 hours without breaks, like the real exam.
- Check with the official key on the paper page, then score yourself: In GATE, each MCQ carries 1 or 2 marks; a wrong MCQ answer costs one-third of its marks (−1/3 for a 1-mark and −2/3 for a 2-mark question). MSQ (multiple select) and NAT (numerical answer) questions have no negative marking.
- Go back year by year. Topics that appear in several years are the ones to revise first.
- Practise mixed sets. On Student AI Hub you can take a shuffled set built from all GATE ST papers, with your score at the end.
